| Does anyone here use Instagram? What do you think of it? Do you post any certain kind of images, or do you just post whatever you feel like posting? I made one myself really recently. I think it seems kind of fun. So many people seem to have pages with specific themes and high quality cameras, while I'm just posting random clutter with a bad camera. I need to up my game. |

| I use it. I used to post random stuff like nature photos but now its stuff that is only purely related to my life. I've only posted 6 times in the last year. Its just stuff like getting a new puppy, rock climbing, an appreciation post, a funny pic of me, etc. |
| I feel you, OP. My phone camera is shit, and most pictures I see on Instagram are simply artistic. It's fun though, I use it. I mainly post pictures of my cats though, or some nice landscapes I come across... |

| Instagram kind of scares me. I feel like I post nice things but I don't get the feeling that people care or give it more than a passing glance. And I lose and gain followers rapidly and I'm not sure why. I try not to use it too much. |

| I don't use it but my friends have been telling me to make an account for a long time and a bunch of other people have recently been telling me a lot more frequently to make an account. | Started using insta to replace using snapchat and found stories and boomerangs (lol) nice to play with. In the end, I still use snapchat but moved to posting my stories onto instagram instead and also the occasional photo about something I think is worth sharing. |

Discussing and debating with another person can also be considered as one form of attention. We may not show our real appearance or use our real name but we do have an identity on MAL. We have a distinct username and a avatar, signature and profile that makes us identifiable. Heck we even have a friend request system on MAL. It depends on your interpretation but I feel our MAL identity is also a part of us, it's not anonymous. Reddit puts less emphasis on such stuff but even that's not anonymous, I'd say 4chan/8chan and stuff like that would be considered truly anonymous. I agree that people do that for the sake of attention, it's not supposed to be subtle though. The fundamental building blocks of social media is based upon the idea of sharing and getting attention from others, every post is done with that purpose. Yeah I understand your reasoning, I haven't used the so called mainstream social media sites either. I understand why others like to use them though. |

| i completely stopped using it around 2016, although when i was still active on it i was pretty meticulous with my themes and layouts. it's mostly just cringey and awkward to look back on now but for a time i did have a lot of fun taking pictures of silly things and making my life seem a lot more interesting than it actually is LOL |

No instagram, facebook, snapchat, etc... I have a twitter where I only RT memes and shitposting when I feel like procrastinating but it's terrible |
